Policy Regarding Shortened School Day

All students with disabilities must be allowed to receive instruction for the length of the regular school day as provided to non-disabled peers, unless the individualized education program (IEP) team specifies a different length of time based on the individual need of the student (AAC290-8-9.05(2)(c).

The start and end time of the school day must be the same for students with disabilities and their non-disabled peers.

No student with a disability may receive a shortened school day due to transportation issues or administrative convenience.
