Mission

We will prepare all students with education, training, and experiences that will permit them to acquire a global understanding of career options, and offer the necessary guidance to enable them to successfully pursue their career goals.

Guiding Principles

Bessemer City School System’s Career Technical Education Department is dedicated to operating by the 5 Guiding Principles set forth by the National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education, and they are:

  • Striving to ensure that the United States leads global competitiveness    
  • Actively partnering with employers to design and provide high-quality, dynamic programs    
  • Preparing  students to succeed in further education and careers    
  • Delivering instruction through comprehensive programs of study aligned to the National Career Clusters Framework   
  • Utilizing a results-driven system that demonstrates a positive return on investment
