School District Hosts Literacy Night

School District Hosts Literacy Night

Bessemer City Schools held a Literacy Night at Bessemer City Middle School on March 6, providing families with resources and strategies to support student achievement. The event featured tips for helping children at home, free educational materials and presentations by students, teachers and literacy specialists. Eight-year-old author K. Barham presented and signed her book. Middle school students also performed a skit. School officials thanked families, teachers and administrators for their participation. The BCMS Ambassadors, sponsored by Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Griglen, were recognized for hosting the event.
