Author Anthony Ray Hinton Visits Middle School

Eighth-grade students at Bessemer City Middle School welcomed author Anthony Ray Hinton, who discussed his book "The Sun Does Shine." Hinton, who was wrongfully incarcerated, spoke to students about resilience, hope and the power of education. He emphasized that knowledge provides both power and freedom, school officials said. Hinton's story served as an inspiration to students, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and recognize their potential. School officials thanked Hinton for his visit and Dr. Somerville, Mrs. Miller, Dr. Arreola and Bessemer City Schools for making the event possible.
